Samantha Wong-Topp, MSc
Samantha is an Emmy-nominated journalist, currently studying ecology and conservation biology at the University of Queensland, with a particular focus on tropical ecology and species interactions.
Previously based in Hong Kong, she worked with a variety of media including VICE News and NBC News, covering events like the Hong Kong anti-extradition protests, the first Tiananmen Square Massacre vigil to be banned in Hong Kong and the National Security Law protests. She also worked for National Geographic grant project, The Hong Kong Explorers Initiative, covering endemic species and illegal wildlife trade in Hong Kong. Samantha is now expanding further into the field of science communication and is working with ECL in this capacity.
